Devon Cycle Hire Limited has been described as having bikes ”in tip top condition with terrific suspension, smooth gears and springy seats” by a reporter from the Daily Mirror who visited Devon’’s top cycle hire centre with her family to sample a day out on The Granite Way. She wrote the bikes represent ”good value” and went on to describe the ”gentle slopes” of the trail and how ”A steam train passed us on the Meldon-Okehampton line, the driver waving in the true style of The Railway Children”.
